Poha, flattened rice, 1kg. Omega. Rice pressed into flakes that soften in minutes. The base of a quick Indian breakfast, and of chivda. A kitchen bag and a home bag.

Cook poha bhaji or kanda poha. A snack mix uses the dry flakes. A gluten-free breakfast can sit on it if the rest of the recipe allows. Don't boil it like raw rice for 20 minutes. The flake is already flat and collapses if you overcook it. Rinse briefly, the way your method says.

Keep it cool and dry, and seal the bag. One kilo is a breakfast stash. Don't let it take on humidity or the flakes go leathery. This is not basmati and not poha flour.
